Each float is equipped with interesting features.
Old No. 9 has motorized wheels that work like the real thing, a clanging bell, smoke and
working lights.
The Pirate Ship has a Phinneas Phogg style wing mechanism, a reclining mast (for low
bridges!) and a pair of dolphins to lead the way.
The prize float though has to be Cinderella's Charriot complete with driver and horses, as
well as a fully appointed plush velvet interior with romantic lighting and a stereo sound
system.
Each year, special groups of children are chosen to ride in the floats to throw out candy
treats to the spectators.
